1. Overview

This Refund Policy explains when purchases and automatic subscription renewals made through FrenchPal may be eligible for a refund. FrenchPal is operated by Cloudvale LLC, a company registered in the State of Wyoming, United States.

This policy applies to eligible paid FrenchPal services purchased directly through FrenchPal. It should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2. Standard refund eligibility

FrenchPal offers a full refund for an eligible initial purchase or automatic subscription renewal when both of the following conditions are met:

Condition 1

The refund request is submitted within 24 hours after the applicable purchase or renewal charge is successfully processed.

Condition 2

No more than five conversations have been used during the applicable paid period.

Both conditions must be satisfied for the charge to qualify under FrenchPal's standard refund policy. Usage of zero through five conversations is within the standard usage limit.

This standard policy does not limit any mandatory cancellation, withdrawal, refund, consumer guarantee, or other rights available under applicable law.

3. Initial purchases

An eligible initial purchase may receive a full refund when the request is submitted within 24 hours after the original charge is successfully processed and no more than five conversations have been used during that paid period.

If a refund is approved for the purchase, access to the refunded paid plan may end and the account may return to the applicable free service level.

4. Automatic renewals

An automatic subscription renewal may also be eligible for a full refund when the request is submitted within 24 hours after the renewal charge is successfully processed and no more than five conversations have been used after that renewal during the renewed paid period.

Usage before the applicable renewal is not counted toward the five-conversation limit for that renewal request. The relevant usage is the usage associated with the renewed paid period.

5. How conversation usage is counted

For purposes of this Refund Policy, conversation usage means FrenchPal conversation activity recorded by the service for the applicable paid period. FrenchPal may review the account's recorded usage when determining whether the five-conversation condition has been met.

If you believe the recorded usage is incorrect, you may raise that issue when submitting your refund request so that our support team can review it.

6. How to request a refund

To request a refund, contact FrenchPal Support at [email protected]. A request is considered submitted when FrenchPal receives your request through this designated support channel.

To help us locate and review the transaction, please include:

  • the email address associated with your FrenchPal account;
  • the order, transaction, receipt, or invoice number, if available;
  • the date of the purchase or renewal; and
  • a short description of the refund request.
Please do not send your full payment card number, card security code, banking password, or other sensitive payment credentials.

The 24-hour period begins when the applicable purchase or automatic renewal charge is successfully processed.

7. Refund review and processing

We may verify the transaction date, account ownership, subscription status, payment status, and relevant conversation usage before approving a refund.

If the standard eligibility conditions are met, the applicable charge is eligible for a full refund, subject to fraud prevention and applicable law.

Approved refunds are generally returned to the original payment method used for the purchase. After FrenchPal issues a refund, the time required for the funds to appear depends on the payment provider, card network, bank, and country, and may take several business days.

8. Cancellation and refunds are different

Cancelling an automatically renewing subscription stops future renewal charges but does not automatically refund a charge that has already been processed.

A refund request for a completed charge is reviewed separately under this Refund Policy. If a refund is issued for a paid period, access associated with the refunded paid period may end.

9. Requests outside the standard refund policy

Refund requests submitted more than 24 hours after the applicable charge, or after more than five conversations have been used during the applicable paid period, are generally not eligible for a refund under FrenchPal's standard refund policy.

This does not affect any mandatory refund, cancellation, withdrawal, consumer guarantee, or other right that applies under the laws of your jurisdiction.

10. Duplicate or incorrect charges

If you believe you were charged more than once for the same purchase, charged after a properly completed cancellation, or charged an amount different from the amount presented at checkout, contact [email protected].

We will review the transaction and correct confirmed billing errors where appropriate. Confirmed duplicate or incorrect charges are handled according to the circumstances and applicable law and are not treated solely as ordinary change-of-mind refund requests.

11. Service problems

If a material technical problem prevents you from accessing the paid FrenchPal service you purchased, please contact FrenchPal Support so that we can investigate and attempt to resolve the problem.

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, an appropriate remedy may include restoring access, extending service access, correcting the account, or providing a refund.

12. Fraud, refund abuse, and payment disputes

To the extent permitted by applicable law, FrenchPal may investigate or decline refund requests involving suspected fraud, payment abuse, account manipulation, repeated misuse of the refund process, or attempts to obtain paid services without payment.

If you have a billing concern, we encourage you to contact FrenchPal Support first so we can review the issue. If a chargeback or payment dispute has already been opened with a bank or payment provider, the transaction may need to be handled through that provider's dispute process.

13. Statutory consumer rights

FrenchPal serves customers in multiple countries and regions. Depending on where you live, mandatory consumer laws may provide cancellation, withdrawal, refund, consumer-guarantee, or other rights that apply independently of FrenchPal's standard refund policy.

For consumers in the European Union or European Economic Area, applicable law may provide statutory withdrawal or cancellation rights for certain distance contracts. The availability and effect of those rights may depend on the nature of the digital service, whether performance has begun, and any consent or acknowledgment required by applicable law.

Consumers in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the United States, and other jurisdictions may also have additional mandatory rights under applicable national, state, provincial, territorial, or local consumer-protection laws.

Nothing in this Refund Policy limits or excludes consumer rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived or restricted.

14. Changes to this Refund Policy

We may update this Refund Policy to reflect changes to FrenchPal's services, payment practices, business operations, or legal requirements.

If a change materially affects an ongoing paid subscription or rights that require advance notice, we will provide notice where required by applicable law. The effective or last-updated date shown on this page identifies the current version.
